The Pacific Private Sector Development Initiative (PSDI) Progress Report 2014-2015.

The Pacific Private Sector Development Initiative (PSDI) has published its Progress Report 2014-2015.


The report documents PSDI’s activities, achievements and expansion through 2014-2015 including work on the economic empowerment of women that will contribute to higher growth in the region by helping remove barriers to women’s advancement, thereby unlocking untapped potential in Pacific island economies.

The Pacific Private Sector Development Initiative is a regional technical assistance facility cofinanced by ADB, the Government of Australia, and the New Zealand Government.

PSDI focuses on five core areas:

  • Financing growth;
  • Reforming outdated business laws and removing regulations that compromise investment;
  • Enhancing the efficiency of state-owned enterprises and promoting public-private partnerships;
  • Ensuring well-functioning competition and regulatory frameworks; and
  • Promoting the economic empowerment of women.
