Papua New Guinea has officially launched its 50th Independence Anniversary logo and theme, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s history.

The golden jubilee celebrations, scheduled for 16 September 2025, are expected to attract global investors, diplomatic representatives, and business leaders to PNG. The event presents an opportunity to showcase the country’s economic growth, trade potential, and investment-friendly reforms.

The newly unveiled theme, “Stronger Together, Growing the Future”, reflects Papua New Guinea’s focus on economic diversification, infrastructure development, and partnerships with regional and global stakeholders. The branding will be incorporated into government initiatives, tourism campaigns, and investment summits.

At the launch, Prime Minister James Marape reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building Papua New Guinea’s economic future: “Our 50th anniversary is not just about celebrations—it is about setting a clear vision for a prosperous Papua New Guinea. We invite investors and development partners to be part of this journey.”

The celebrations will feature business forums, trade expos, and policy summits aimed at attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) and strengthening economic ties, particularly with Australia, China, India, and Japan.

Papua New Guinea’s Investment Promotion Authority (IPA) is expected to launch incentive packages for foreign investors in key industries such as energy, agriculture, tourism, and digital finance. The anniversary will also highlight the country’s rapid recovery post-pandemic, with economic projections showing a 4.7 per cent GDP growth in 2025.

Business leaders have welcomed the initiative, stating that it will boost investor confidence and reinforce PNG’s strategic position in the Pacific economy.
