The upcoming 39th Australia Papua New Guinea Business Forum, scheduled for May 13-15 on the Gold Coast, will feature four distinguished female leaders who are set to discuss their innovative contributions to business and economic development in the region.

Leata Alaimoana

Leata Alaimoana

Leata Alaimoana, appointed as the Queensland Trade Commissioner for the Pacific in March 2023, has an extensive background in government and executive management. Over the past two decades, she has played a pivotal role in facilitating over $33 million in investments across the Pacific, creating significant economic and social outcomes. Alaimoana also holds non-executive directorships with Good Return and Exemplar International Development and is an accredited Samoan interpreter/translator.

Elizabeth Genia, recently named the first female Governor of the Bank of Papua New Guinea, offers nearly four decades of experience across various senior roles within the bank. Known for her expertise in finance, auditing, and risk management, Genia is also recognized internationally as a leader in financial technology and gender equity. Her comprehensive education includes a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters of Business Administration, along with specialized training in financial technology from Oxford University.
