The Australia Papua New Guinea Business Council in partnership with the Business Council of Papua New Guinea are pleased to announce that online registrations for the 34th Australia Papua New Guinea Forum and Trade Expo (APNGBF) are open.
Tuesday, 21 February, 2018, Brisbane, Australia- The Australia Papua New Guinea Business Council in partnership with the Business Council of Papua New Guinea are pleased to announce that online registrations for the 34th Australia Papua New Guinea Forum and Trade Expo (APNGBF) are open. The Forum will be held in Brisbane on Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 2 May, 2018 with a pre-forum dinner taking place on the evening of 30 April 2018.
The Forum will take place at the Royal International Convention Centre, located in Brisbane and this year includes two full days of sessions and updates from a range of expert speakers that will be invaluable for those currently doing business between Australia and Papua New Guinea or looking to do so.
The Forum typically attracts in excess of 300 delegates and at least 50 Trade Expo booths.
The Forum provides an opportunity for business representatives attending to hear about a wide range of business activity and opportunity in Papua New Guinea, to convey to governments challenges faced by business, and to network with business and government representatives from both countries.
For the first time the Forum will include a session on opportunities for Papua New Guinea investors into Australia as the Councils look to balance the Forum bilaterally.
The Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, the Hon Peter O’Neill and the Prime Minister of Australia, Malcolm Turnbull have both been invited to present their government keynote addresses outlining the business opportunities and policy challenges of doing business between both countries.
Mr Peter Taylor, President of the Australia Papua New Guinea Business Council, said “this event continues the work which the Council has been undertaking since 1981 promoting trade and investment between Australia and Papua New Guinea”.
Mr Taylor emphasised the importance of the Council’s relationship with the Business Council of Papua New Guinea in promoting bilateral trade and investment and economic growth in Papua New Guinea.
The President of the Business Council of Papua New Guinea, Mr Robert Nilkare, said “the Business Council of Papua New Guinea is once again pleased to partner with the Australia Papua New Guinea Business Council in this event which by rotation will this year be held in Australia”.
Topics included in the Forum program include the Papua New Guinea economy, APEC 2018, education, infrastructure, transport, energy, resources, MSME information technologies, agriculture, tourism, Bougainville and the not-for-profit sector.
